The Orkney Collection has become increasingly popular over the last few years. The line is a reproduction based on a style of chair crafted in the Orkney Islands off the coast of Scotland in the 1800's. Originally hand made from driftwood and locally grown materials, our version stays very similar to the original in look. We utilize a sturdy wooden frame with a hemp rope seat and a wooven rush back. These pieces take five days each to hand craft. Owners of these chairs have been known to use them as dining chairs, near the fireplace, or even as a sturdy mudroom chair.
